- Triangle Resouce; Personal Idea Notes Book
- Participants are encourages to write down any and all ideas that
are generated during the course of the retreat. This notebook is
something that can later be shared between members of the EC to help
form goals, and ideas as a group.
- If you're in a discussion, it's easy to get side tracked from an
idea, so please write your ideas down as they come to you through out
the weekend.
- What is bothering you? Have participants write down everything that
is on their mind. If it does not concern the weekends activites, we do
not what it to be on their minds.
- What do you feel the chapter did wrong in the past year?
- Poor participation...
- Poor planning....
- Poor scholarship...
- Poor brotherhood...
Focus on the future, don't focus on the past. To express any negative
emotions. Lists can be shared if the participants feel like they want to.
Each participant has the liberty to change that which they do not like in
this next year. Burn the lists to signfy exponging any negative
attitudes. Build positive emotions from the ground up.
- 22:00 - Group Activity Session
- Make participants work as a team.
- Fruit Metaphor - Have participants pick a fruit and explain how
Triangle relates to that fruit.
- Telephone Game
- Gavel Pass
- First Pass - Where is the chapter past, present, and future.
- Second Pass - Gavel-Holder gets to speak. Focus on your personal
goals for your position.
- Third Pass - Gavel-Holder does not get to speak. The group
focuses on the goals of the position held my the gavel-holder.
- Optional Pass - How do you personally fit within these goals?
- Wrap-up: Purpose of a gavel pass. It is very important to lear
how to communicate with each other. Without communication, the EC may
fall and as a result the chapter suffers.
- Nightly Wrap-Up: Have participants explain what the point of all of
these activities. Communication is the key to a successful chapter.

- TP Activity - ask each participant to tear off as much or as little toliet
paper that they like. Once each has done this, go around the group and ask each
person to give one reason that they have chosen to be a leader in this chapter
for each individual piece of paper that they have in their hands.
